Persing Woods Raw Honey Brings Holistic Wellness to the Community

ABOUT PERSING WOODS
Persing Woods, LLC is a niche organic products farm located on 200 acres of
pristine pasture and woodlands in the Southern Tier region of New York
State. Elmira, once home to Mark Twain and Ernie Davis, is a true "small
town, USA". The town is usually not thought of in people's minds as the hub
of agripreneurship. However, sometimes the best opportunities lie outside of
the normal places and within the undiscovered regions.
As transplanted New York City folks, each day is a challenge to get the
whole "farming business" right. Our mission is to create a truly
sustainable enterprise. Sustainability, in our philosophy, means
incorporating business acumen, respect for nature, and conservationism into
a working model that truly utilizes all of these resources in the most
efficient and beneficial ways.
Many of our friends and family members love the fact that the once ultimate
urban couple have moved from the East Side to the Country Side. But what a
joy it is to spend days outdoors on the trails with our Alpine goats, or
summers watching our industrious Russian honey bees traffic in and out of
the hives, determined to fill their combs with nectar for the long winter
months ahead.
As an organic farm, we do not use pesticides or hormones. Each bee hive is
constructed from natural materials and coated in propolis, an antimicrobial
sealant made directly by the bees, instead of the paint and other toxic
materials used by other producers. Persing Woods harvests only 50% of the
total honey produced by each hive. We believe that bees that live on this
rich, beneficial diet are healthy and rarely require human interference.
Our dark, raw honey mostly contains nectar from the Japanese Bamboo plant -
it's one of the most perfect foods in nature. Our velvety smooth goat milk
provides nutrients and sustenance without any artificial processing. Our
philosophy at Persing Woods is to promote the health and wellness of our
customers, our family, our animals, and our land. We strive to nurture the
good things nature has already provided for us, and we are proud to bring
the fruits of our labor into your hands.
